Salina is the proud host of the award-winning Smoky Hill River Festival, now in its 42nd year. Infuse your senses with summer sights, smells and sounds. Whether you live to enjoy art, live music, great food or some of each, the Festival is an amazing arts feast you shouldn’t miss. Often described as “like none other,” the Festival’s unique arts offerings are set in beautiful Oakdale Park. The Festival boasts four live stages with an enticing variety of bands, roving artists and children’s acts. Nationally known for its high-quality, affordable, original work the River Festival’s art show highlights more than 135 artists from across the U.S. A trip down food row delights the senses with the aroma of roasted nuts, barbecued meats and delectable funnel cakes. More than 30 vendors offer mouth-watering treats ranging from buffalo burgers to Asian noodles to alligator on a stick. Other activities include a pre-Festival workshop, Festival Jam on Thursday night, the Friday-evening Big Band Dance, and the Saturday morning Festival Fitness Five races and walks.
